Since its inception, AniTOMO Con has been committed to highlighting trailblazing voices from marginalized communities and providing them with opportunities to co-design our program of events and ambiance.

AniTOMO Con Plus Ultra focuses on inclusivity, equity, and building friendships in the fandom community by way of engaging with Japanese culture, manga art, and anime screenings.

What We Provide

Convention Architect Think Tank

One-Hour Think Tank Session With Trivia, Giveaways, Prizes and Japanese Snacks! During which the students will be exposed to;

  • Open discussion with promotion of transparency in regards to convention accessibility.

  • Increased knowledge and understanding of conventions.

  • Sharing opinions without judgement or biases to promote high attendee engagement, quality panels and special events.

  • Encourage creativity and draw out wisdom to ensure all facets of the convention are seen from the perspective of our attendees and special guests.

  • Generate new ideas and solutions to increase social media engagement and ticket sign ups.

  • Provoke intuitive thinking on critical event issues.

  • Improve team collaboration and efficiencies.

Anime Voice Acting Workshop

  • Learn the basics of dubbing and voice acting from a community organization celebrating POC culture.

  • A dynamic workshop where students learn the fundamentals of voice acting, including character interpretation and dubbing techniques. Equipment included.

Content Creator Workshop

  • Explore the essentials of creating impactful content with up-and-coming visionaries.

  • A practical session where students explore the basics of content creation, from filming and editing to building an online presence.

Manga Illustration Workshop

  • Dive into the art of character design and storytelling with a local artist.

  • A hands-on class teaching students to create their own manga, focusing on character design, storytelling, and artistic techniques.

  • Craft material included

Anime Screening & Q&A

  • Enjoy a fan-favorite anime followed by a guided discussion led by a social impact company dedicated to increasing access to the world of film.

  • Host an exclusive anime screening, complete with discussions and Q&A to engage students in storytelling and cultural themes.
